As a well-traveled couple, Kristin and Scott had one directive to wedding planner Isabella Sikaffy of Florabella Studios, they wanted a destination wedding with spectacular water views for the ceremony. The coast to coast search ended with the Chebeague Island Inn, a family owned hotel on a remote island off the coast of Maine that is is scattered with summer homes and the iconic yellow inn. Instead of cars, vacationers just use bikes to get around.

Most guests arrived on the island via water taxi, only 15 minutes from the mainland. A welcome picnic was set up with grab and go items that could be enjoyed while catching up with the couple and friends on the expansive front lawn of the hotel. After getting settled, guests gathered again at the docks to take a sunset cruise to another nearby island for a lobster feast for the rehearsal dinner.

A quintessential New England clear blue sky was on tap for the wedding day. While guests enjoyed a leisurely day on Chebeague, the bride and groom prepped for the big day. Wishing to maximize their party time as well as take pictures together around the island, the couple elected to do a private first look. After a tour of the scenic spots together, immediate family and the wedding party was gathered on the expansive porch of the Chebeague Island Inn for pre-ceremony group photos.

The Florabella team meanwhile prepped the ceremony site which included an ombre arrangement of petals down the aisle. Bench seating had been taken up a level with custom cushions in fabric they designed and printed using Spoonflower. The ceremony began with a procession of their immediate families and all of their many nieces and nephews down the aisle. The boys carried a long swag of greenery for maximum effect (and to keep them in line, literally!). Needless to say, the couple got the spectacular water views that they wanted, with Casco Bay offering a vista to be remembered.

The post ceremony walk was punctuated by guests throwing petals. And immediately afterwards, cocktail hour commenced on the porch. As the sun dipped lower in the horizon, guests transitioned to the tent where Florabella had decorated with an array of blue fabrics, vintage milk glass, and pink and white florals. The clear top tent allowed guests to continue to see the ocean views throughout dusk.

Like all the guests, I have fond memories of this special weekend on Chebeague Island. Would love to return with my family some day!
