This stylish rehearsal dinner takes casual Long Island entertaining to the next level.
Kaitlin and Chris travelled to Greenport a few years ago for a summer weekend getaway and instantly fell in love with its beachy charm and low-key atmosphere.
Chris proposed on a Thursday right before they were schedule to go to Greenport for another getaway. Freshly engaged, they quickly realized it was where they wanted to get married. Said Kaitlin, “We wanted a destination that felt like a departure from New York and our daily lives, but that was also easily accessible for our friends and family, most of whom are on the east coast. Greenport checked every box.”
They worked with Amanda Curlio of Amanda Barbara Events on hosting a spectacular destination wedding on the North Fork. They were hoping to share the charms of the area with all their dearest friends and family. To begin, they booked the Kontokostoa Winery for a welcome party and al fresco rehearsal dinner under the fading twilight and cafe lights of the back deck.
The party also included a wine tasting cocktail hour, featuring a variety of vintages produced at the property. The tasting room is a perfect venue for a medium size party like this. The open beam work and rustic decor reflects a casual yet refined vibe. This is a great venue to check out, weather you are hosting a wedding or just wanting a nice night out on the North Fork of Long Island.
The bride wore a chic dress by The Brock Collection paired with bold drop earrings. And she hired her wedding day hair stylist, Nikki Avanzino, to create a sophisticated loose style with one side swept up.
Flowers were provided by Sag Harbor Florist. And catering was by the one and only Robbins Wolfe.
Right before sunset, I took the couple out to the spectacular vista at the edge of the property for a quick photo session. The golden hour light couldn’t have been more perfect. As we walked back to the reception, the sky was light a bright pink color that was truly unforgettable. It was so special to have rehearsal dinner coverage as a complement to the wedding day photos. When we created their final album, we included highlights from this night to capture the essence of the entire weekend.
